La Campagne Tamar
Tamar c’est quelqu’un dont le récit est très actuel : Tamar est victime d’une attaque sexuelle, non par un étranger mais par quelqu’un qu’elle connaît très bien. Le viol a lieu non à un endroit lointain et isolé ; il n’est pas commis par un inconnu, mais par un membre de la famille et chez lui. Tamar est victime de son caractère qui a été exploité : sa gentillesse, son obéissance d’origine culturelle, et de son éducation, qui consistent à s’occuper des autres. Tamar dit : “Non”, mais son “Non ”n’est pas respecté. Quand Tamar cherche de l’aide, on lui demande de se taire. Le processus menant à la justice et à la restitution lui est privé complètement ; il est exécuté par son frère. Aucune autre femme n’est citée dans ce récit comme ayant émis sa voix ou joué un rôle pour venir au secours de Tamar; c’est maintenant une affaire des hommes. A la fin, le père pleure l’auteur du crime et non elle. En fait le récit de Tamar se termine sans elle-même. (2 Samuel 13 :1-22)

La Campagne Tamar » a pour objectif de sensibiliser les Leaders Religieux et les membres de la communauté sur l’acuité et la gravité des VSVBG et ses effets négatifs sur la vie des communautés (les blessures physiques, les traumatismes, le VIH / Sida, les grossesses non désirées, les avortements, etc.).
